KUALA LUMPUR, JANUARY 2017 – The hotel associates from Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur recently brought happiness and smiles to the 40 elders’ residence at Tong Sim Senior Citizens Care Centre, a non-profit home set up for the elders who are being abandoned in hospital by their family members.
Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur’s Corporate Social Responsibility program (CSR) for the month of January was championed by the hotel’s Finance department. The group of 32, made up of associates from different departments within the hotel arrived at the old folks home at 10.00am and work together to set-up a sumptuous Chinese New Year feast for the elderly.
Apart from a sumptuous Chinese New Year feast are being prepared, in conjunction with this happy and joyful festive of togetherness, the hotel also prepared a Yee Sang tossing session together with the elders.
Led by Tin Yew Boon, Financial Controller of Berjaya Times Square Hotel, the group spending meaningful time with the elderly residents, and it ended on a joyous note with the traditional ceremony of presenting “Ang Pows” to each of the residence that were present, which included approximately 40 senior citizens. Representatives from Berjaya Times Square Hotel thanked the Management of Tong Sim Senior Citizens Care Centre for their kind consent and assistance, in making this event a memorable event for all those that were present.
Tin Yew Boon said, “We are very happy to be here today to visit the elderly residents of Tong Sim Senior Citizen Care Centre who have so many life stories to share. Spending time with them has been very rewarding, we do hope that our little visit today have also brought them cheers during this Chinese New Year festivity. We are a strong believer in giving back to the communities we serves and we will strive to achieve a perfect balance between business and fulfilling our social responsibilities.”
